Uitvlucht is a drama and tells the story of Anna (Clara Joubert van den Bergh), a conservative, middle-class woman who loses everything that matters in her life after a mishap. In her sad situation, she finds work at a farm school with the name of ‘Uitvlucht’. While she systematically sorts out the can of worms she is faced with, her own healing begins and she learns to forgive herself, and to begin to accept that someone might love her again. With the support of the other teachers and Dok (Stian Bam), a gentle, friendly farmer who visits the Uitvlucht school and befriends Anna, she finds the courage to re-build herself and the people around her.

Apart from her own dilemma, she suddenly has to cope with school parents’ alcohol abuse, children who are being molested and ruthless individuals who don’t care about their fate.

It’s a story of hope in a hopeless situation, mercy in desperation, and of a love that conquers all. The movie stars Stian Bam, Clara Joubert van den Bergth, Jill Levenberg, Oscar Petersen, Lika Berning, Clyde Berning, Margot Luyt and Carel Trichardt.

The film opens on 13 May 2016 in theatres countrywide and is released by Ster-Kinekor Entertainment.
