REVIEW: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
Last week we were invited to join Montecasino for a frighteningly fun experience with a man-eating plant. We got to meet Seymour, Audrey and Audrey II along with the rest of the cast of Little Shop of Horrors on stage at the Pieter Toerien Theatre, which was followed by drinks at Cobblestones and then to top it all off we received the best seats in the house for the show!
SEYMOUR: Alan Comimittie
AUDREY: Candice van Litsenborgh
Mr. MUSHNIK: Michael Richard
ORIN: Zak Hendrikz
CHIFFON: Lelo Ramasimong
CRYSTAL: Chantal Herman
RONETTE: Dionne Song
AUDREY II: Brandon Moulder (Puppeteer) Tim Wells (Voice)
HOBO, CUSTOMER, SKIP SNIP & Mr. MARTIN: Adam Pelkowitz
HOBO & Mr. BERNSTEIN: Jaco van Rensburg
Now I’m not kidding when I say that I first watched the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS movie roughly 29 years ago with my older brother and I cucked in my pants. I was only 5 years old and damn scared of that Man-Eating plant named Seymour. Below is a quick clip from the original movie
Now having watched the movie all those years ago and then having the pleasure of watching our local talent on stage, I must say that I am extremely impressed as they were all outstanding performers. The way that each cast member portrayed their characters was SPOT ON and to the T to say the least.
The set design was unbelievably well done as it made you firmly believe that you were back in the 1980’s. You witness the entire growth of Seymour as he becomes larger and larger. There are a total of 4 Seymour Puppets and the 3rd & 4th puppets will blow your mind just on their size alone.
This show is definitely one you have to book and see before it ends on the 9th August or you will surely regret it.
The LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS runs at Montecasino Theatre and tickets can be purchased from computicket or using the widget below.
