Modder en Bloed


Modder en Bloed tells the story of Willem Morkel (Stian Bam), a Boer warrior and family man, whose wife and only child are killed by British soldiers during the Anglo Boer War (1899 – 1902). Willem is held captive with other Boer soldiers of war on the island of St. Helena in the Atlantic Ocean. The British concentration camp is ruled by the tyrannical Colonel Swannell (Grant Swanby), a fiery Imperialist with a deep hatred of the Afrikaner. The impressive ensemble cast includes British and South African actors. Various local actors, such as Deon Lotz, Edwin van der Walt, Albert Maritz, Altus Theart, Jacques Bessenger, Bok van Blerk, Michael Richard en David Louw appear in the film, while the British cast includes Charlotte Salt (Katherine Sterndale), Patrick Connolly, Nick Cornwall and Josh Myers. The film will open in theatres nationwide on 1 April 2016 and is released by Ster-Kinekor Entertainment.
